Crossing the foothills of the Tuxer Alps

The touring region in the foothills of the Tuxer Alps is the ideal terrain for tour beginners. The snow sure and sunny areas in the Tuxer Alps provide idyllic conditions well into springtime. Small ,exceptionally comfortable mountain huts can be found along the way, providing welcome refreshment for the next stage.

Programme details:

  • Day 1: Arrival in Mayrhofen, ascent to the den Rastkogel Hut, maybe a short tour to the Kraxentager
  • Day 2: Ascent to the Rastkogel peak at 2,762 metres above sea level, downhill run to the Lämmerbichlalm, ascent to the Nafingjoch peak, 2,440 m – downhill run to the Weidener Hut.
  • Day 3: Ascent to the Hobarjoch at 2,512 metres above sea level, downhill run to the Vallruckalm, ascent to the Torspitze 2.662m or Hippoldspitze, downhill run to the Geiselhöfen and on to Tux/Vorderlanersbach
